Yampa Valley Electric Association would like to remind members to submit their ballots to its third-party ballot counters no later than June 18.

After June 18, if members have not voted and would like to vote in the Board of Directors election, they need to attend the annual meeting in person. At the annual meeting, members will be issued a new ballot, and those ballots will be cast during the call for ballots portion of the meeting. The annual meeting will be held on June 24 at the YVEA Steamboat Headquarters, 2211 Elk River Road. Registration will begin at 3 p.m. with the meeting starting at 3:30 p.m.

The link to vote electronically will also close on June 18. The email with the link was sent on May 22. The email came from noreply@directvote.net. In addition, there is a QR code on the paper ballot inner envelope with an individual access code so members can vote electronically if they missed the email with instructions. The “Vote Now” button  will no longer be available in members’ SmartHub accounts after June 18.

YVEA would like to remind members that ballots left in the payment drop boxes or combined with payments will be invalidated. If a member votes more than once or uses both an electronic method and a paper ballot, those ballots will also be invalidated. To be valid and counted, each ballot must be signed by the member whose name is on the mailing label. If it is a joint membership (two names on the label), only one member can vote. If voting by paper ballot, a signature on the return envelope is required. Each member can vote only once, by email, by mail or at the annual meeting. If multiple ballots are received, all ballots by that member will be invalidated.
