Free diabetes prevention course offered

Northwest Colorado Health will offer free Diabetes Prevention Program classes beginning on April 10 and running for 12 weeks.

The classes will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at Northwest Colorado Health’s Community Health Center, located at 745 Russell St. in Craig.

The Diabetes Prevention Program aims to help community members learn, build skills and improve health behaviors to lower their risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The program offers a shared learning environment where participants support one another in setting goals around better nutrition, exercise and lifestyle changes.
