Joan Lee (Cobb) Overby was born in Denver, Colorado to Jim and Dorothy Cobb. She graduated from Moffat County High School in 1957 and attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley CO. She married Robert Deakins and had two son’s, Darryl and Richie, who are both deceased. She had worked as a Secretary for both the District Attorney and Public Defenders offices. After moving to Denver she married Al Overby(deceased).
She loved bowling, playing cards and square dancing. She was a member of the P.E.O. and the Territorial Daughters of Colorado.
She is survived by her granddaughter Cassie, and great grandson Ryan. Her sister Jeannie Higgins, brothers Bill (Mary) Cobb and Chuck (Sari) Cobb and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life is being held August 7th in Arvada CO. at the Aspen Mortuary, 12 noon.
