Wildland firefighters responding to fire near Lodore Canyon

According to a news release from the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, emergency services were notified of a wildland fire in the area of Lodore Canyon on Tuesday afternoon at 3:15 p.m.
The fire was reported to be on the property of the Dinosaur National Monument and is a half mile south of the Lodore Canyon Ranger Station. National Park Services, and Moffat County Sheriff’s Office wildland firefighters are currently assigned to the fire.
The public is asked to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to battle the fire without interruption. There is currently limited information available. Updates will be provided as they become available.
