Support the Humane Society by eating pizza this weekend

What’s the best way to spend a Saturday? Cuddling adorable dogs and cats? Enjoying delicious food, cold drinks and great music at a fantastic restaurant? Supporting a worthwhile local cause? How about all three?
The Human Society of Moffat County and Gino’s Neighborhood Pizzeria & Grill have joined forces to bring the community the first annual Pets, Pints and Pies adoption event and fundraiser.
Humane Society board member Steve Hilley and Gino’s owners Joe and Paula Belcher developed the idea for the fundraiser over the past six months.
The event is scheduled for Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. There will be live music from local artist Phil Beckett.
Gino’s regular lunch menu will be offered. And a portion of the proceeds from all food and beverage sales during that time will be donated to the Humane Society. The Belchers will also match up to $1,000 in donations from total food purchases during the event.
A donation jar will also be available. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets for one of sixteen door prizes, with four to be given out each hour.
Adoptable dogs and cats will be on-site. Potential pet-parents can begin the adoption process by filling out an application during the event. Applications will be submitted to and processed by Bear Creek Animal Hospital and Shelter for approval the following Monday.
And while the organizers hope attendees bring healthy appetites and giving hearts, they ask that pets be left at home for this particular event “for the safety and well-being of on-site shelter animals.”
Proceeds from the event will help facilitate pet adoptions and provide financial assistance for spays and neuters, pet food and other supplies.
The organizers want to invite the public to “come share a splice and support (their) mission to enhance the health and well-being of companion animals in Moffat County.”
