Sports briefs: Craig Puck Ewes fall to Vail
Playing Sunday at the Moffat County Ice Arena, the Craig Puck Ewes fell to the Vail Twin Peaks, 4-1.
The Puck Ewes’ Jamie Eckroth scored Craig’s lone goal with two minutes remaining.
Vail scored one goal in both the first and second periods and twice in the third.
Kandice Torno stopped
42 of 46 shots for the Puck Ewes.
“We were slow today,” she said. “I felt like I played pretty well today, but they were able to score on a breakaway and off of a couple of rebounds. They took a lot of shots.”
At 4:30 p.m. Dec. 6, the Puck Ewes (1-2) will host the Steamboat Bobcats.
