Senior Spotlight for August 6, 2012
August is a month when the season usually starts giving a good hint of change.
Harvest is one of my favorite times. The smell of fresh mown hay, vegetables in all mature colors, the change in the nature of things, the good results of honest labor.
People, too, show results of their labor in the way they grow.
Hopefully the results are good, but even if they don’t seem to be as good as they think they should be, we still need to find the good side.
After all, I believe there is good and some bad in all of us, if we just look deep enough. Anger is one of the worst and not forgiving is another.
Let’s all be on our good sides and grow in friendship, love for our country, and one another.
Happy birthday to Ron Moran, Sandra Robinson, Leon Walker, Donna Adrian, Darlene Turner, Shirley Jarell and Dorothy Webb.
Get well/speedy recovery to John Cisar, John Holcomb, Sherri Valdez, Ryan Merriam, Suzie Brown and Phyllis Smith.
The noon potluck is Friday at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St.
The Moffat County Older American Day lunch for seniors is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds covered picnic area.
