One week into January finds us here at Sunset Meadows getting back to the ‘ole routine, now that Y2K is a thing of the past.
Sunset Meadows I Friday pot-luck was back and with: Millie Bilsing, Rosetta Harper, Berniece Finely, Tom Ward, Helen Moore, Helen Hall, Kathy and James Compestine, Lottie Neely, Avis Self, Esther Jo Self, Leona Slaugh, Lit Anderson, Lucille Talkington, Bob and Donna Whitecotton, Betty Reece, Alma Smith, Jean Muhme, Elsie Chase, Mildred Hering, Clysta Carey, John and Faye Russell, Dorthy Thompson, Laura and George Swanson, Ralph and Faye Paulson, Minnie Sheard, Manford Grubb, Jim and Ronnie Rogers, Earl and Beulah Kline, Leetha and Chuck Hellman, Joe Rotter, Herb McCool, Gen Schultz, Margaret Thompson, Marian Kagle, Agnes Russell, Hazel Linzenmeyer, Bob Grubb, Roger Hayes, Verniece Self, Ted and Alberta Cochran, Earl Davis, Jack Bankston, Aldean Schanck, Joe Edwards, Frances Chisholm, Sophie Nardi, Celine Derick, Mary Jo Brown and May McIntyre. George Swanson gave the blessing. There was bingo afterward and some of the seniors played Blitz.
Lunch out was at the Truck Stop Jan. 8. The monthly Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) senior dinner was the same evening. Winners of the VFW door prices were: Phyllis Trouth, Charles Mansfield, Gale Norman, Marion Conrow, Alma Smith, Laura Swanson, Pat Fread, Chuck Hellman Fean Bemis and Stanley Ruskis.
There will be a concert at the high school Jan. 10 and some of the residents are going.
Good to hear Grace Valdez is feeling better. Also Velma Moreland, Willie Daniels, Phyllis Varela. Speedy recovery to Rose Poff and Ruth Boggs.
Angel of the month is Lusetta Dowling of Sunset Meadows I and Neva Richardson of Sunset Meadows II.
It’s cold outside so I’ll just stay in here and get into “The Center of Things.”
