Red Flag Warning issued for Moffat County

According to a news release from the Moffat County Sheriff’s Department, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for Tuesday.
The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning all of Moffat and northern Rio Blanco due to expected strong winds, low humidity and dry conditions.
These conditions create extreme fire danger. The Moffat County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to avoid any outdoor burning, to secure trailer chains and use extra caution with anything that could spark a fire.
The department also asks the public to “do our part to help protect lives, property and our community,” and remain vigilant, alert and report any signs of smoke or fire.
