Oxley family: Thank you for help with fires

To the editor:

To the wonderful people of Moffat County:

First of all, we would like to wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2014. We live in a wonderful area with wonderful people. Regardless of any hardships, that in itself is enough to be thankful for!

For us, and a few other families (the Slaights, the Lathrops, and most recently, the Pingleys), 2013 brought life-changing fires to our homes and lives. These disasters were mitigated only by the fact that we live in the most amazing corner of the world and in the greatest community anyone could ask for. The support and generosity we encountered after our fire was superbly kind, compassionate and so very humbling.

We will spend the rest of our lives working to pay it forward.

After the craziness the holidays bring, our lives are finally calming down, and the rebuilding process of our home and our relationships can begin. We want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our friends, family and this community for making a hard time immensely easier for us. If it weren’t for all of you and all your support, we don’t know where we would be today.

We love you all and greatly appreciate everything. This truly is the greatest place in the world to live, and we are so proud to have the opportunity to reconstruct both our house and our lives in this place we have always called home. May 2014 bring us all opportunity and prosperity!
