U.S.D.A commodities will be distributed by the Moffat County Department of Social Services from 9 to 11 a.m. March 9 at 595 Breeze St., and from 1 to 2 p.m. in Dinosaur at the Social Service Building. Commodities also will be distributed from 9 to 9:30 a.m. March 8 at the Maybell Community Center. All households that receive commodities must certify each year. A picture I.D., proof of address and current eligibility is required. Call Moffat County Social Services at 824-8282.
MCHS students taking
orders for chairs
MCHS mass production class students are taking orders for all purpose chairs. The cost is $39.99. The chairs come in either black or burgundy.
Each order requires a $10 deposit. Chairs will be delivered on or before May 16.
Those interested should leave their name and phone number at MCHS, 824-7036, and a student will call you.
Web processing fee
will be discontinued
The Secretary of State soon will discontinue the 99-cent introductory processing fee charged for most Web-enabled transactions for business organization documents. However, the office will continue to charge significantly lower processing fees for customers who use the electronic options offer on the Web site.
Searching the business database, viewing and printing images, obtaining certificates of good standing will remain free of charge.
Poker run fund-raiser
scheduled for Saturday
The Jackson County Fair board is hosting a fund-raising Poker Run at Peak Ranch, 22 miles north of Kremmling, on Saturday.
Registration is between 10 a.m. and noon.
The cost is $10 a hand or five hands for $40. Call 725-3283 or 724-3241.
New hunting regulations available at DOW offices
Hunting regulations for 2005 are now available at license agents and at Division of Wildlife offices. Those who applied for big-game licenses in Colorado last year should receive a copy in the mail.
The most significant changes to the regulations for 2005 is that all elk tags for the fourth combined season are by draw only.
For the past two years, hunter could purchase over-the-counter tags.
The deadline for all big-game applications is April 5. Nonresidents interested in big-game hunting during 2005 can get a copy of the regulations online by going to the DOW Web site at http://www.wildlife.state.co.us or by calling 303-297-1192.
Hunters also can apply for and purchase big game licenses over the Internet. Hunters can learn more about applying over the Internet by visiting http://www.wildlife.state.co.us/total_licensing/.
Several other new regulations that hunters should be aware of include important changes to the bear hunting regulations.
