Peabody names group executive

Peabody Energy announced today that Larry Hull has been named group executive of Colorado operations.

He will have responsibility for Twentymile Mine near Oak Creek and development of additional coal reserves in Colorado. Hull reports to group vice president of Western operations, Kemal Williamson.



Hull has served as director for underground mining for Black Beauty Coal Company in Evansville, Ind., since July 2004. He has more than 20 years of mining experience in a variety of senior engineering and operations positions with a major coal producer.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mining engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Science degree in management from MIT Sloan School of Management. He is also a Sloan Fellow.



Irish singer to perform in Craig tonight

Robin Mark will perform at 7 p.m. today at Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane.

Mark, of Belfast, Northern Ireland, has had more than 10 albums of his music produced. He is making his first concert tour in the United States this summer, and Craig is his only Colorado stop.

Mark earned the 2004 International Artist of the Year Award from the Gospel Music Association.

Realtors donate $1,500 to Advocates group

The Craig Association of Realtors recently donated $1,500 to Advocates Crisis Support Services.

This money will help with the remodeling of the newly acquired shelter facility, which provides emergency housing for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Craig and Moffat County.

“The Craig Association of Realtors, (Colorado Assoc–iation of Realtors Housing Opportunity Foundation) member offices and our participating affiliate partners are pleased to be able to contribute to this organization,” said Vicki Burns, local board president and Colorado foundation chairwoman. “(Advocates) will provide vital assistance to our community, and we welcome the opportunity to assist (Advocates) in their support of Moffat County residents.”

The Colorado foundation has donated $639,000 this year to 85 various housing organizations across Colorado.

The funding supports homeless programs, crisis shelters, construction of affordable housing and down-payment assistance programs.

About 10,000 Realtors in Colorado participate in the program by depositing earnest money in an interest-bearing account held by their broker, title companies or homebuilders.
