A Moffat County High School sports fan favorite is making its long-awaited return this weekend.

The Bulldog wrestling program’s prime rib dinner takes place Saturday, Oct. 4 at the MCHS cafeteria. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner starts at 6 p.m. A silent auction with donated materials will be available throughout the meal, with winners announced at 7:45 p.m.

Tickets are $60 per adult and $100 per couple, $50 for ages 14-18 and $30 for 14 and younger, with ages 4 and under admitted free. Tickets will be capped at 200.

A long-standing tradition for MCHS, the banquet fell off after the COVID pandemic, but will be back in full force as a fundraiser for both the Bulldog boys and girls teams.

“(We are) excited to see the Moffat County wrestling community come together,” said girls coach Ashlee Griffiths-Ripka. “This event is supposed to show the athletes that the community is behind them.”

With the makeup of the wrestling program including a greater number of student-athletes now, she added that it serves as a unifying moment for boys and girls squads.

“I believe this will bring the two teams closer and show them that they are on the same team,” she said.

Tickets can be purchased from Moffat County wrestlers or coaches. For more information about admission or donations, call Griffiths-Ripka at 970-629-9848.
