For this week’s Hometown Hero, the Craig Press is pleased to honor Steven Mazzuca.

Mazzuca was sworn in earlier this year as a new member of Craig City Council and his consistently striven to improve elements of the area alongside fellow councilors.

Mazzuca was also among the area soldiers who participated in this week’s Veterans Day ceremony at Moffat County High School, discussing military service and duty to one’s nation.

Through Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265, Mazzuca has also aimed to keep vets and community members close together.

“Positive change for any town over just a few years is hard to measure, but I would like to see Craig continue to support what has kept us alive all these years,” Mazzuca said during his campaign for council. “We have a unique and great community full of great people.”

Merriam-Webster defines a “hero” as a person admired for achievements and noble qualities. Who’s your hometown hero? A local first responder? Your neighbor? A co-worker? A friend? Help the Craig Press honor the unselfish service of our Hometown Heroes each Friday by submitting the name of your hero and a short statement explaining why he or she should be honored. Send your story to hometownheroes@craigdailypress.com.
