With multiple events happening to cap off the conclusion of spooky season in Northwest Colorado, here are a few of the activities available around Halloween in Craig.

Take to the streets

The annual Trick or Treat Street in downtown Craig runs from 4-6 p.m. Friday as Downtown Business Association provides plenty of goodies for all ages.

Families can bring their kids, in costume or otherwise, for a stroll along the 400 and 500 blocks of Yampa Avenue — with active traffic closed — as well as part of Victory Way, with crossing guards managing the flow of cars.

The event is free for everyone to collect candy and enjoy the holiday safely.

The carnival’s in town

After a successful first year in 2024, the Halloween Carnival at Centennial Mall returns for another go.

Games and activities for families will run from 4-9 p.m. Friday at 1111 W. Victory Way, including a haunted house, photo scavenger hunt contest and plenty of other fun things provided by mall businesses.

A day of honor

Multiple events will take place in Craig this week to honor Día de los Muertos — Day of the Dead — which celebrates the lives of family and friends who have passed away.

Residents are encouraged to bring photos, notes, paper flowers or other mementos to commemorate their loved ones and place them on an altar as part of the holiday

The Health Partnership will oversee an altar at Craig Chamber of Commerce, 775 Yampa Ave., starting at 11 a.m. Friday and closing at 4 p.m. Sunday. Visits must be completed before 5 p.m. each day.

A candle-lighting ceremony will take place at noon Sunday.

For more information, call 970-875-3630 or visit thehealthpartnership.org.

A separate Día de los Muertos ceremony will take place starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Mall, featuring altars remembrance, as well as an array of family activities, prizes, food and music.

For more information in participating with altars or booths, call 505-504-4106.
