Day of the Dead Festival brings community together in celebration and remembrance

All are invited to come together for a Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Centennial Mall. This traditional Mexican holiday honors loved ones who have passed on, celebrating their memory with color, music and joy.

The event will feature community altars, food, music, face painting, prizes and activities for kids. Families are encouraged to participate by creating an altar to remember and celebrate their loved ones, or simply to enjoy the festivities.

Día de Muertos is not a day of mourning, but a celebration of life — recognizing that the people loved are never truly gone as long they are remembered.

Those interested in reserving space for an altar or volunteering to help with the event may contact:

• Justin: 505-504-4106 (English)

• Mariana: 307-456-8007 (Español)

Everyone is welcome.
