Craig resident Daniel James Ovenden died Sunday, March 17, 2002, on Pagoda Peak in Rio Blanco County. He was 31.
Ovenden was born Oct. 24, 1970, in Craig to Denman and Jolene K. (Paul) Ovenden. He was raised in Craig, graduating from Moffat County High School in 1989. On Aug. 20, 1997, he married Stacy Running at his parent’s cabin at Wilderness Ranch.
Ovenden worked with his parents operating the Print Shop in Craig. He was a member of the Craig Kiwanis Club and enjoyed snowmobiling, being outdoors, spending time at the family cabin and being with his family.
Ovenden is survived by his wife, Stacy Ann of Craig; daughter, Taylor of Craig; parents, Denman and Jodie of Craig; brothers, Jeff of Loveland and Lee; mother- and father-in-law, Debbie and Randy Running of Beulah, N.D.; brother- and sister-in-law, Chad and Lynette Running of Craig and numerous aunts and uncles.
Services were March 21, 2002, at the First Congregational Church in Craig with Kirk McKey officiating. Musical selections were “We All Sleep Alone” and “Two Steps Behind.”
Honorary pallbearers were all his many friends.
Services concluded at the church.
