Craig homeowners to receive reminder about Optional Service Line Repair Program

Mailing is part of an ongoing program that originally launched in 2012

Local residents continue to have the opportunity to simplify homeownership through an existing program the City of Craig has with Service Line Warranties of America.

The program allows homeowners to enroll in optional service plans that help protect against emergency repairs to the water service lines that connect their homes to the water system. Participating homeowners have access to a 24/7 hotline to schedule a repair performed by reliable local contractors to help reduce the stress of an urgent repair and the out-of-pocket covered repair costs.

Program Details

This program was launched by the City of Craig and SLWA in 2012 to assist homeowners with needed wear-and-tear repairs to this infrastructure on their property since it is not managed by the city and typically excluded from standard homeowners insurance.

Over 239 Craig homeowners have enrolled in the program. These participating residents have received 804 repairs under the program, all of which were completed by area contractors, saving them $852,509.00 in out-of-pocket repair expense.

Soon, information will hit homeowners’ mailboxes, allowing them to learn more about the program and enroll in the available plan options. This will be the first reminder since October 2016. Homeowners should check and compare the options available through their homeowners policy and choose the right fit for them. Program participation is voluntary and choosing not to participate will not affect municipal services. Plans are administered by SLWA, and no public funds are used to promote or manage the program.

“With this partnership, we help ensure homeowners in the City of Craig have access to reliable local contractors and plans designed to help simplify complicated and costly repairs, reducing the stress of homeownership,” said Tom Rusin, CEO of SLWA parent company HomeServe.

What’s Next?

Residents will soon receive mailings that include the City of Craig logo to signify that this ongoing program is legitimate and for their benefit. Homeowners who wish to learn more or enroll are encouraged to call 866-922-9006 or visit slwofa.com.
