The Colorado Department of Transportation is set to commence concrete rehabilitation improvements on U.S. Highway 40 near Steamboat Springs, with work scheduled to begin Wednesday, April 3.

Motorists traveling through the area are advised to plan for light traffic impacts initially, with more significant delays expected to follow.

The project, which will focus on ADA ramp improvements, is anticipated to kick off with minimal disruptions during April 3-12. However, starting the week of April 15, motorists should prepare for delays of 7-10 minutes, particularly during peak commuting hours when traffic volumes are high.

The rehabilitation work will primarily concentrate on concrete pavement panel replacement, ADA pedestrian ramps and sidewalk enhancements.

Improvements will extend from Mile Marker 130.5 to Mile Marker 133.5, covering both eastbound and westbound directions on U.S. 40, spanning from 3rd Street to 13th Street. The project is anticipated to take three months, with completion targeted for the end of June.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will provide weekly email updates coinciding with the commencement of construction activities.
