Craig Briefs: Putt-Putt Classic deadline today

Three local bars will host the annual Putt-Putt Classic at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The event starts at Mathers Louge & Café, 420 Yampa Ave.

The cost is $5 per team, and there will be raffles for entrants, as well as prizes for best-dressed and best scores.



Three miniature golf holes will be set up at each bar, including Mathers, J.W. Snacks, 210 E. Victory Way, and the Popular Bar, 24 W. Victory Way.

Entrants must be over 21 and supply his or her own golf balls and putter.



The deadline to register is today.

Applications are available at the participating businesses.

Online chat focuses on economic issues

The Craig Daily Press and Cook Chevrolet, Subaru are hosting an online chat with two area economic experts from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Darcy Trask, director of the Craig/Moffat Economic Development Partnership, and Scott Ford, director of the Routt County Economic Development Cooperative and a regional economist, will answer community questions regarding Moffat County and the Yampa Valley’s current economic state and what they forecast for the future.

Participants may submit questions before the start of the chat or during the chat itself.

Science fair coming to Center of Craig

Next month, the Northwest Colorado Home School Assoc-

iation, along with Eagles Wings Christian School, will be hosting a community science fair for students in kindergarten through 12th grades.

Registration for the fair ends today.

The fair is scheduled for May 14 at the Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave. For more information, call 824-6911.
