The Craig Kiwanis Club plans to award about $8,000 in scholarships in 2009.

A minimum of $500 will be awarded as a Key Club Scholarship to a member of the Moffat County High School Key Club.

To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must:

• Be a current or previous graduate of Moffat County High School or an MCHS student who did not graduate for a valid reason.

• Be a resident of Moffat County, as should at least one parent.

• Be accepted and enrolled in an accredited university, college, business school or vocational school.

Scholarship recipients will be chosen based upon their demonstrated leadership qualities, community involvement, academic achievement and financial need. Prior scholarship winners are encouraged to submit new applicants for 2009 scholarships. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipients’ college or school.

Scholarship applications are available in the counselor’s office at the high school.

Applications, along with additional supporting documentation, should be completed and mailed or delivered to: Moffat County High School, Attn: Paula Duzik, 900 Finley Lane, Craig, CO 81625, or Jeff Corriveau, Craig Ford-Mercury, 801 W. Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625.

Applications must be received by 3 p.m. March 23. Scholarship recipients will be announced before April 30.
