Center of Craig awaits Council approval for completion
The few odds and ends remaining at The Center of Craig keep remodeling from being complete, city officials believe, and completing the building is a priority for Craig City Council.
To complete the building, Council will have to budget an additional $65,000 from the general fund reserve account. That money will pay for carpeting and painting stairwells, ceiling work in the basement, finishing the auditorium and other miscellaneous work needed to complete the historical building.
Council has given preliminary approval of the expense and will be asked at its meeting Tuesday night to consider introduction of an ordinance appropriating the money.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in Council chambers at City Hall.
In other business, Council will:
Consider a request to advertise for one full and one alternative board member of the Board of Appeals;
Hear a request from the Northwest Colorado Wildkats Cheerleading Team that Council support its local fund-raising project;
Consider a request to purchase two sanders and one snowplow for the Road and Bridge Department;
Hear the second reading of an ordinance to modify public park hours.
After hearing audience comments, Council will adjourn into executive session to discuss a purchase agreement for Elkhead Reservoir and discuss the Estey-Simpson litigation.
