Friday, Feb. 23

2:00 a.m. In Craig, officers investigated a report of domestic violence.

12:13 p.m. On the 700 block of Green Street, officers responded to a report an explosion that rattled windows. Officers later determined that Trapper Mine was cap sensitivity testing.

1:35 p.m. On the 2000 block of West Victory Way, officers responded to a report of a person impersonating a peace officer over the telephone.  

2:23 p.m. On the 1100 block of Barclay Street, officers responded to a report of two women involved a physical and verbal fight.

3:50 p.m. On the 900 block of Colorado Street, officers responded to a report of an older white male driving a White Accura who was reportedly trying to take packages from a residence.  

5:56 p.m. On the 2200 block of East Victory Way, officers responded to a complaint of a person who had driven a vehicle off the roadway, temporarily parked in the reporting party’s driveway and hadn’t come to collect the vehicle. The reporting party requested officers remove the vehicle from the driveway. 

7:18 p.m. On the 600 block of Wickes Avenue, officers investigated reports of two suspicious vehicles, a white car and a dark-colored car, parked at Ridgeview Elementary School. When officers arrived, no one present. They checked the building which was all secured.

9:10 p.m.  On the 600 block of Ranney Street, officers responded to a report of someone at a house knocking on the windows. The suspect was last seen stumbling towards City Market.

9:29 p.m. On 700 Taylor Street, Officers responded to reports that someone in an alley was firing a BB or pellet gun, causing the neighbors’ dog to bark.

11:42 p.m. On the 400 block of Yampa Avenue, officers responded to a report that two girls had stolen alcohol and were back at the scene of the crime. They were kicked out of the establishment.

11:50 p.m. On the 600 block of Wickes Avenue, officers responded to reports of two men in a verbal altercatiom. Officers contacted the men, and they stopped.

Saturday, Feb. 24

12:07 a.m. On the 800 block of Rose Street, officers arrested a 53-year-old Grand Junction resident on suspicion of driving while under the influence, parking in no parking zone, driving with an expired license and violation of registration.

7:51 a.m. On the 700 block of Hospital Loop, officers responded to reports of harassing phone calls. A male caller was reportedly making sexual remarks.

5:11 p.m. On the 700 block of East Victory Way, officers arrested a 27-year-old Craig resident on suspicion of possession of an unlawful substance, drug paraphernalia and two counts of violating a protection order.

Sunday, Feb. 25

2:48 a.m. On the 1200 block of East Victory Way, officers responded to reports of theft.

4:29 a.m. Near the intersection of East Fourth Street and Tucker Street, officers responded to a report of an open door.

10:16 a.m. In Craig, officers investigated reports of domestic violence.

11:47 a.m. On the 800 block of Legion Street, officers responded to a noise complaint.

12:02 p.m. On the 2300 block of West Victory Way, officers responded to reports of a weapons violation.

2:36 p.m. On the 500 block of First Avenue West, officers responded to reports of an assault.

4:15 p.m. On the 500 block of Seventh Avenue West, officers responded to reports of a disturbance.

11:38 p.m. On the 500 block of Pershing Street, officers responded to reports of a suspicious person.

Editor’s Note: The origin of the shaking and noise experienced by many people just after noon Friday remains a mystery.
