Obituary: Rubio Santistevan

Rubio Franklin Santistevan, age 82, passed away on June 10th, 2024 at HopeWest in Grand Junction, Colorado after a short battle with cancer.
Rubio Franklin Santistevan was born in Costilla, New Mexico on December 19, 1941 to Rosenaldo and Maclovia (Medina) Santistevan. Rubio graduated from Hayden High. He met Jo Eaton; they were married in Craig, Colorado. To this union two daughters were born. Melissa Jo and Josphine Ann. Rubio and Jo divorced years later. He then met Bonnie Farmer, they were married in Grand Junction, Colorado. Later they divorced but remained in contact until she passed. Recently Rubio started dating his long time neighbor, Theresa Majors. They were blessed to spend as much time as they could together. Theresa was a big part of Rubio’s life and filled his last year with laughter and love.
Rubio is survived by his daughter Melissa (Jeff) Johns, grandchildren Krista (Otto) Whisner, Cori (Jarod) Soron, David (Nichole) Decker, Travis (Shelby) Decker, Greg (Shylar) Merrick and Destin Johns, his Sister Virginia Santistevan, brother Fred Santistevan, 11 great grandchildren, numerous niece, nephews, his first wife Jo Perez, and girlfriend Theresa Majors.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rosenaldo and Maclovia, his daughter Josphine Burch, and his brothers Balamino, David and Elmer Santistevan and his second wife Bonnie Santistevan.
A small celebration of life for Rubio will be held in September with family and friends.
