June 27, 1927 – May 17, 2021

Ira E. McKeever,93, passed away peacefully at The Willows at Fritz Farm, Lexington, KY, on May 17th, 2021.

Services will be held at a later date, with family, in Colorado Springs, CO.

Ira was born in Kit Carson, CO, to Ira and Janet (Reuter) McKeever, on June 27th, 1927. Ira, a veteran, was a hard-working man, who was tough but never asked another to do what he would not do himself! He loved learning and travel answered that calling after graduation from the Colorado School of Mines. He saw more of the world than most of us will ever see! His sense of humor was unmatched, and his love of animals was unending. He found joy in everyday things even when the frailties of his body threatened to take away his abilities. His faith carried him and gave him a purpose through ministry to others.

Ira is survived by his four children: Christine McKeever (Thomas) Miller, in Kentucky, Scott Ira (Anne) McKeever, in Colorado, Bonita Lou Smith, in Texas, and Walter Arnold (Gael) McKeever, also in Texas. He had nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay McKeever.

He was an example and inspiration to all who knew him, and he will be forever missed by all.
