Obituary: Donald Keefe

Donald Harold Keefe, born in Denver, Colorado on July 11, 1948 to Donald and Cleora Keefe, passed from this life December 14, 2024.
A decorated Sergeant in the US Army, Don honorably served his country from March 21, 1968 to October 23, 1969. Don was discharged in 1969 and received the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart for his combat injuries.
Don went on to have a successful career in construction, co-owning D & D Construction and D & D Deli in Craig, Colorado, where he met and married his wife Denise. Don and Denise’s family grew to include a total of six children and nine grandchildren.
Relocating to Albuquerque, NM in 1987, Don became co-owner of AAA Solar, where he worked until retirement.
Don is survived by his wife Denise Keefe, daughter Amie Hargrove and husband Jim of Commerce City, CO; son Dan Keefe and partner Susanna Speier of Denver, CO; daughters Carrie Polk and husband Jeff of Edgewood, NM; Jessie Hunt and husband Jeff of Albuquerque, NM; Kellie Lewis and husband Jonathan of Sandia Park, NM; son Joey Keefe and fianceé Alicia Schubert of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren, and one loyal dog, Pepper.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father and eight of his siblings.
And he was our favorite.
A memorial service in Don Keefe’s honor will be held Monday December 23, 2024 at Mountainside Church of Christ at 11:00 am. 12300 Indian School Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.
