He was a controller with the FAA for over 34 years, spending the most time at Los Angeles Center in Palmdale, CA. He eventually became the Traffic Management Officer for LA Center. He was married for 48 years to Susanne Akins Neher. After Bob retired in 2004 they moved to Hawaii and lived there for 9 years. > Bob spent many years in California and loved surfing in the ocean. His dream was realized when he surfed several times at Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. He also loved classic cars and owned many in his youth, and a 1930 Model A coupe and a 1940 Ford sedan in recent years. He loved going to classic car shows all over the country. His main reason for buying the 1940 Ford was because it had a backseat “for the grandchildren”! He was also an award winning apple pie baker and loved making them for county fair competitions and family holiday dinners. He was the Beach Boys biggest fan and attended many of their concerts.
> Bob is survived and well loved by his wife, Sue, his son David (Sherry) of Modesto, CA and daughter, Becky (Ryan) Fritz of Craig.
