Levi Trent Weber was born May 30, 1989, in Craig. He died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, in his home northwest of Craig. He was the youngest of three sons born to Jim and Jeana Weber.
Levi was active in 4-H, getting his start in Clover Buds. His 4-H projects were market swine and shooting sports.
He also won grand champion one year on his baked goods. He continued his market swine project when he joined FFA in high school.
Levi was an accomplished wrestler. He started in peewee when he was only about 3. His uncles were the coaches, so he got to start earlier than most. When he was in fifth grade, he started practicing with the middle school team.
Coach Guffy snuck him into a tournament, where he beat all of the seventh- and eighth-graders to take first place. He was on the varsity wrestling team all four years of high school.
He went to state his freshman and senior years. Injuries kept him from going his sophomore and junior years. He lettered and was all conference.
He also did freestyle wrestling with his brothers, traveling all over the country to compete.
He loved to watch his little cousins wrestle and couldn't wait for his nephew, Koy, to start.
He helped his uncles coach the peewee teams and always helped referee tournaments.
He played on a summer co-ed softball team with his mom, uncle and cousins. His goal was to hit more balls over the fence than his cousin, Shayne. Levi also played baseball in the youth summer league, and football in middle school and high school.
Levi was also active in the Young Life program during high school. He once said Young Life camp was one of the best times he ever had.
Levi liked to hunt, fish, ride dirt bikes and 4-wheelers. He also loved to go camping with his family. He could catch a fish when no one else could, a trait he got from his dad.
Levi liked working for his Grandpa Pat on the ranch. He worked with his Grandpa Orvie at the hospital. He loved to pull practical jokes on him.
Levi is survived by his mother, Jeana Weber; brothers Jimmy (Lonna) and Tyrell (Kelly); grandparents Orvie and Margie Zimmerman and Pat and Bonnie Weber; nephew Koy Weber; nieces Kayla and Cheyanne Weber; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Levi was preceded in death by his father, Jim Weber; uncle Dan Weber; baby niece Jamy Lynn Weber; and his great-grandparents on both sides.
Levi loved his family and friends more than anything. He and his silly grin will be greatly missed by so many.
He helped make us all who we are today.
