The Rotary Club of Craig is offering you the opportunity to help show your community support for Craig and the USA. This year will be the start of the 11th year of our American flag project. We are asking businesses and community members to sponsor flags, and the Rotary Club will display them throughout town on the following holidays:
• Memorial Day
• Flag Day (June 14)
• July Fourth
• Labor Day

• Patriot Day (Sept. 11)
• Constitution Day (Sept. 17)
• Columbus Day
• Veterans Day (Nov. 11)
On Yampa Avenue, the flags are placed on the light poles on both sides of the street from Fourth to Sixth street. On Victory Way, the flags will be placed both sides of the street starting at Lincoln Street and heading west every 100 feet. The number of flags that will be posted will depend on the number of flag sponsors that we have. This past year we were able to place 150 flags on both Yampa Avenue and Victory Way. We are hoping to have even more sponsors this year so the flags can go even farther down the street.
Flags may be placed on Yampa Street light poles and a smaller section of Victory Way due to inclement weather or for some extra events throughout the year, including the addition of the observance of Constitution Day, which is not an official holiday. (Flags are not placed for winter holidays due to safety concerns.)
It is really nice to drive through town with Old Glory lining the way. What a great way to impress visitors driving through the area, perhaps making them want to stop and explore, or return another time. The price to purchase a flag sponsorship and take part in this wonderful program is $75 per flag, per year. You may purchase as many flags as you wish. All sponsors will be recognized in the Craig Daily Press at the beginning and at the end of our flag year. Please help us to spread our pride all through Craig.
Contact any Craig Rotarian or call 970-826-4444 to sponsor a flag.
