Hayes family: Thank you to a railroad angel
The Hayes family would like to thank a silent angel.
On the morning of Aug. 22, 2019 my father-in-law, Jay D. Hayes, Sr., had a massive heart attack. As we all rushed to get home and on the road my husband, Jay D. Hayes, Jr. and myself were blessed with a very kind man.
I left work and headed home.. when I approached the railroad crossing on the south side of Mountain Meats, I saw the crossing was closed due to moving some of the train cars around.
There was a railroad man with a gray-white beard directing train cars.
I rolled down my window to ask if he had any idea how it might be? I told him my father-in-law was on the Flight for Life heading to Grand Junction.
I was thinking if the gentleman knew how long the tracks would be closed I could go around.
The railroad man spoke into his radio then stopped the cars and unhooked them so I could cross and left the crossing open long enough so my husband made it too.
I don’t know who this blessing was, but I wanted to thank him for stopping his work and his day to help us!
I cannot thank you enough for your kindness.
Jay Sr. is back home recovering, we are all back to work.
Thank you so, so very much for stopping to help us pass!
