Wesley Carl Romans was born to James Carl Romans and Billie Mae (Swarts) Romans on January 28, 1952 in Loveland, Colorado and died on September 16, 2020. He grew up in Longmont, Colorado graduating from Longmont High School in 1971 and started working on a farm owned by his uncle, Herman Swarts. When the farm was sold upon his uncle’s death in 1989, Wes worked for various businesses as a mechanic, ranch hand, and general laborer. In 1996 Wes moved to Craig, Colorado where he worked in Steamboat Springs for JDW Inc. In 2000 Wes met Juanita Sharp and they were married on November 23, 2005. Together they continued to live in Craig until his death. Wes was preceded in death by his father James and is survived by his wife Juanita, mother Billie Mae of Fort Collins, Colorado, a son Jason Lopez of Evans, Colorado, a sister Debra Henderschedt (Paul) of Mansfield, TX, a brother Steve Romans (Mary Ann) of Fort Collins, Colorado. He is further survived on his side of the family by four grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. On Juanita’s side he is survived by stepsons Spike, William, Merlin, and Dennis. Sister-in-law Melody Lyons, her husband Sid and their sons Aaron (Lindsey), Anthony (Kayra) and Francis. Services will be held Saturday, October 3, at Journey at First Baptist Church in Craig.
