Ruth Marcheta White  died Saturday, October 26, 2019, at Hope West Hospice Center in Grand Junction, CO with family by her side. She was 94.  

Ruth was born April 22, 1925, in Craig, CO the youngest of three daughters to Edward C. and Ella H. (Breymayer) White. Ruth was raised in Craig and attended Craig schools graduating in 1943. She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at age 12. Through her life she held many jobs. During WWII she worked in Seattle, WA for Boeing Aircraft as a mechanic on the forward section of the Bombay on the B-29. She helped her father in his salvage yard in Craig.

Ruth loved the automotive industry and worked as a parts clerk for 30 years in Denver, Las Vegas and Craig with the majority of those years in Craig at T & H Auto Parts and the Moffat County Road Department. 

Ruth enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, reading, playing pool and was an avid Denver Bronco fan. She could be seen walking all over town into her early 90s. She valued her independence and lived at home taking care of herself until the very end. 

Ruth is survived by nephews Fred Wilson of Cave Junction OR, Ed Counts of Craig and niece Judy Gudmunson of Casper WY; great-nieces Deena Tarango, Andrea White, Trini Riley, Trixie Castro and Marcheta Richardson. “Great” nephews Scott Wilson, Pat Wilson, Ethan Counts, Tony Gudmunson, Kelly Gudmunson, Lee Decker, Tony Decker and Kim Decker; and numerous great-great- and great-great-great-nieces and nephews. 

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Opal Counts and Pearl Schneider, niece Vivian Perry and great nephews Chris Jekel and Marty Counts.
