Lifetime Craig resident, Richard Alan “Rich” Deakins, passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at his residence in Craig. He was 59. A celebration of Rich’s life will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday March 6, 2021 at Mather’s Bar. Rich was born the son of Joan Lee Cobb and Robert G. Deakins on August 6, 1961 in Craig. Rich attended schools in Craig and graduated from Moffat County High School with the class of 1979. Following high school, Rich began working for several businesses as a welder. He enjoyed welding so much he made it his life long career. In his spare time, Rich enjoyed hunting, playing pool and spending time with his family and friends. Rich is survived by his parents, Joan Overby and Robert Deakins; a very special niece Cassie Deakins, and various aunts, uncles, cousins, the step-family of Robert and a large circle of friends. Rich was preceded in death by his brother, Darryl Deakins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Rich’s memory to a charity of your choice in care of Grant Mortuary.
