Obituary: Ricard Benjamin Smith

Richard Benjamin Smith

August 26,1944 – February 9,2020

Richard Benjamin “Spanky” Smith, 75, was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on August 26, 1944. At 9 months old he was adopted by Ben and Doris Smith. He was raised with his younger brother Robert (Bob) in Morrisville, Pennsylvania.

On a deer hunting trip to Colorado in 1968, he met and married Jeanne McPherson. Together they had three children; Kirk, Darric and Opie. They have six grandchildren.

His hobbies were hunting, reloading, driving his Razor as well as photography. He made friends everywhere he went and will be greatly missed by many. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020 at The Grant Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. A reception will take place following interment.

Richard is survived by his wife Jeanne; children Kirk (Trisha), Darric, and Opie (Lyndi); grandchildren Jarod, Whittley, Jaycee, Keith, Courtney and Shelby; brother Robert (Jean); and niece Natalie.
