John McIntyre was born on March 4, 1938, in Maybell, CO to Richard H. and Leona May McIntyre. John was raised on the family ranch in Maybell with his three brothers.

In 1964 he moved to Washington to manage the Lewis & Clark Angus Ranch before starting his own ranch in the Columbia Gorge area of Washington. Besides ranching and spending time with family and friends John enjoyed horse racing and in 2003 started working alongside his wife Chris at Equibase. They traveled the southwest charting races at different race tracks until their retirement in 2017.

John enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and family he especially enjoyed spending time with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

John passed away at home in Wittmann Arizona on January 15th, surrounded by family.

John is survived by his wife Chris McIntyre, brother Sam (Georgia) McIntyre, son Doug (Deddy) McIntyre, daughters Terri (William) Cozzens, Dawn (Brad) Gohr. Grandchildren Brandon (Marci) McIntyre, Janice (Brice) Allen, Tyrel Kinner, Zane Kinner, Sari (James) Roberts, Ethan (Mercedes) Kinner, Fallon Gohr, Gunner Gohr and several Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents Richard H. and Leona May McIntyre, brothers Marvin and Dick McIntyre.

A memorial service for John will be in Maybell this summer. Memorial donations may be made to the Museum of Northwest Colorado.
