Etzler-Wiser

May 5, 1982 – August 17, 2020

Brooke Leah Etzler-Wiser 38, of Craig, Colorado went to be with her Heavenly Father August 17, 2020. She was born May 5, 1982 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to Donald H. Etzler and Dixie L. DeJournette Etzler.

Brooke was third generation born and raised in the Yampa Valley. Her childhood years were spent raising 4-H animals and exploring the outdoors with her family. She was educated at Hayden High School and went on to Cheerlead at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling ,Colorado.

Her roots brought her home, where she later married Gabe Wiser. In 2002, Brooke and Gabe lost their infant daughter Colby, who was born premature. Two years later they welcomed their son, Brody Lawrence Wiser. Brooke was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her son Brody above all. She loved watching him excel in sports and conquer the wake behind their boat. She will continue her role as as mother in Heaven, embracing her daughter who she loved and missed dearly.

Brooke adored her older brother Travis, and considered him her best friend and sounding rock. She was also very close to her younger sister Jaclyn, who was like Brooke’s shadow through their childhood. Brooke cherished the love and everlasting support provided by her devoted parents.

Brooke loved children, pets and had many friends. She embraced all children and cared for each as her own. She had a vivacious personality and greeted anyone with an open heart and free of judgement. Brooke knew the road of personal struggles and always thought of simple ways to help others. She was the most selfless person, and should be a inspiration to us all to continue her altruistic legacy. Her heart was bigger than one can imagine and she was always looking for ways to fill it with love. Brooke’s contagious smile could light up the valley. Her beauty inside and out was unsurpassed and was recognized by anyone who was blessed enough to know her.

We take comfort in knowing that Brooke is surrounded by light, free from the struggle that haunted her. We would have given anything for her to experience that freedom during her time here on Earth. Our grief over losing her is infinite.

Brooke is preceded in death by her infant daughter Colby Wiser, her maternal Grandparents Barbara Livingston Cooper DeJournette and Earl Dejournette and her paternal Grandparents Henry J. Etzler and Donna Dean Etzler.

Brooke is survived by her loving parents Don and Dixie Etzler of Craig Colorado, husband Gabe Wiser, son Brody Wiser of Craig Colorado, brother Travis (and his wife, Katie) Etzler of Wasilla Alaska, sister Jaclyn (and her husband Scott) Wold of Lolo, Montana and two nieces and two nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Craig Cemetery on Saturday the 22nd of August at 2pm. Masks required for all whom attend.

A Celebration for life will be held in the spring, honoring Brooke with friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, please make the time to visit Brooke and remember her beautiful kind soul.
