Yampa Valley Partners brings focus regional issues
Yampa Valley Partners provides a focus for community wide issues in Routt and Moffat Counties. It its efforts to stimulate greater attention to issues in the community, Yampa Valley Partners facilitates collaboration and communication between citizens, local government, the business and civic community.
Consistent with that role, we provide administration for Yampa River Basin Partnership. This Routt and Moffat County organization focuses on environmental issues in the Yampa River Basin. The Yampa River Basin Partnership is a coalition of leaders from federal, state and local governments, local industry, business and agriculture areas “working with citizens of the Yampa River Basin to balance natural resource and social issues to protect and enhance our quality of life through open communication, education and coordination of efforts.”
The Yampa River Basin Partnership will meet at 1 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Hayden Town Hall. Items on the agenda will include discussion of the Yampa River Endangered Fish Recovery and Water Management Plan. Gerry Roehm of Fish Wildlife Service will present updated information. Efforts on the Yampa River Endangered Fish Recovery and Water Management Plan have resulted in the draft of a Programmatic Biological Opinion (PBO). The PBO will contain a consensus opinion for preferred alternatives. Late February or March will be the completion date for this PBO.
