After snowy weather delayed plans to get things going in March, course personnel temporarily opened the back nine to people last week and have since declared that the season is good to start.

Hours for the shop will be 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. as the season gets going, with tee times beginning at 10 a.m.

Course professional Bob Mueller said he was excited to see regulars hitting the links right away Friday and can't wait until the fairways and greens are full of life again.

"Here in the Yampa Valley, you always have that straggly snowstorm, but I think we're good now," he said. "I'm just looking forward to having everybody come back out and join us here."

Mueller said he is hoping to hold a membership drive, as well as increasing educational opportunities for players new to the sport or otherwise desiring to improve their skills, with camps and clinics for men, women and children alike.

Mulligan's will be a lunch establishment as well as catering special events, using the inside and patio.

Carelli's owners Brett and Stephanie Etzler both have many years history at the location, he as the former course pro at YVGC and she was the Tin Cup's one-time manager.

"Hence the name Mulligan's — a second chance," Stephanie Etzler said. "Super simple menu, but it's going to be absolutely delicious, handmade, knock your socks off, a real treat for Craig."

The Etzlers are anticipating spending a lot of time at the site and the course in general.

"You forget how pretty it is until you're in there, and then you're like, 'Wow,'" Stephanie said.
