Wrestlers second in Rifle tournament

The Moffat County wrestling team finished second in the Rumble in the Rockies dual-format tournament Saturday in Rifle.

The Bulldogs were 4-1 in duals against Front Range teams. Moffat defeated Pueblo West, 40-32; Pueblo Centennial, 60-21; Berthoud, 48-26; Elizabeth, 44-27; and lost to Class 5A Eaglecrest, 46-34.

Wrestlers with winning records for the Bulldogs were: 103 pounds, Cory Vigil, 4-1; 112 pounds, Brice Boling, 4-1; 119 pounds, Jake Breslin, 4-1; 125 Matt Kincheloe, 3-2; 145 pounds, Korey Kostur, 5-0; 152 pounds, Daniel Cramblett, 5-0; 171 pounds, Clancy Garoutte, 3-2; 215 pounds, David Hickson, 3-2.

Moffat County returns to the mat Thursday with a triangular meet against Palisade and Battle Mountain.

The meet starts at 5 p.m. at Moffat County High School. On Friday, the Bulldogs travel to Meeker for the annual dual between the two Northwest Colorado rivals.
