Craig — The Moffat County Bulldog Hockey Club continued its winning ways Saturday, sweeping visiting Kremmling in a double-header at the Moffat County Ice Arena.
Senior Scott Smith led the Bulldogs (7-0 in league play) to a 9-0 victory in game one, tallying his eighth and ninth goals of the season.
Moffat County put away the Cattle Kings (1-6) in the second game, 6-2, to sweep the four-game season series.
“We put on a clinic out there tonight,” Bulldog assistant coach Gene Carson said. “I hope it builds confidence and not complacency.”
Third-string goaltender Curt Ellgen was in net for Moffat County, and the sophomore stepped up to the challenge. Ellgen stopped 13 shots in the game one shutout victory and pushed aside another 37 in game two.
“Ellgen played outstanding tonight,” Carson said. “You can see his confidence growing by the minute.”
