William Ronis: More valuable than coal
To the editor:
Is not our health and the health of our environment more valuable than oil and coal? How about the future health of our planet and its occupants? Not more valuable than oil and coal?
What about the safety of our children at school, and our freedom to walk down the road safely? Not more valuable than a background check, and a limited number of bullets in a magazine?
Oil and coal will be our staple for energy past our lifetimes. We owe it to our grandchildren to move in a direction of a better form of energy for the future. We owe it to our grandchildren to move in a direction for a safer country to live in for the future.
The larger group of people are trying to move us in a positive forward direction, and for this I am thankful. The smaller group is trying to keep us in darkness. The smaller dog barks the loudest. I feel sorry for them, for they cannot see the light.
