Wellness Tip: Hemp seeds

Hemp seeds contain a multitude of health benefits. Hemp is commonly confused with marijuana, as it belongs to the same family; the two plants are different, however. Hemp does not provide the same side effects as marijuana. In fact it has an abundance of nutritious qualities.
It is a superior vegetarian source of protein; it is non –allergenic and easily digestible. It contains high amounts of essential fatty acids, essential amino acids and fiber. Hemp proteins are an excellent option if allergies have been identified to whey or soy protein.
With a pleasant taste and many health benefits hemp protein powder can be mixed into smoothies for a nutritious meal. Try boosting the nutrition value of a berry cobbler by including hemp seeds.
