Wellness Tip: Coconut water

Coconut water is an excellent way to rehydrate and replenish after strenuous exercise. With less sugar than common sports drinks and fruit juices, coconut water contains a balance of carbohydrates and electrolytes.

It is a nutritious and relatively low-calorie way to add potassium to your diet. Yes, good old-fashioned water is always important, but it is wise to replenish electrolytes after extended exercise. If you are looking to try something new, coconut water provides a sweet, nutty flavor and can be purchased at most grocery stores.
