Wellness Tip: Coconut butter
Coconut butter is a spread made from the meat of the coconut much in the same way peanuts are used to make peanut butter. When contrasting coconut butter versus coconut oil think about peanut butter versus peanut oil.
Coconut butter can be can be enjoyed with your favorite fruit, combined into smoothies, blended into coffee and spread over toast. In our climate it will likely be solid as a rock when purchased; it may require being warmed for a minute or two before use.
Coconut butter is used much like a condiment rather than in cooking and baking. Coconut butter provides the same health benefits as coconut oil and contains fiber, protein and carbohydrates.
