Great taste

The annual Taste of Craig takes place Thursday as Craig Chamber of Commerce’s after-hours mixer. The gathering includes food from multiple local restaurants, as well as door prizes.
RSVPs in advance are recommended.

Bring the thunder

Gino’s hosts Thunder Thursday this week complete with live music by John Husband aka Wet Juan. The performance will be on the restaurant’s outdoor patio.

Silver screen

The Dive-In Movie Night hosted by Grand Futures Prevention Coalition and Craig Parks and Recreation will show Disney’s “Moana” at Craig Pool Complex Thursday evening. Families are welcome to use the pool while watching the film. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Homemade goodness

The Downtown Craig Farmers Market takes place each Friday afternoon at Alice Pleasant Park.
The gathering is full of local vendors selling homegrown produce, homemade delicacies, specialty artisan crafts and other unique goods.
Organizers are also taking applications for additional booths.
A special drum circle presentation will take place at 3 p.m. each week, as well, and all are welcome to join.

On target

The series Moffat County 4-H shooting sports state completion shoot events continues this Saturday as the local shotgun team takes aim. Junior and senior level competitors will be putting their skills to the test to determine which of them will go on to the next big event later in the summer.

Stand tall

A series of courses led by Defenders USA will take place in Craig this weekend.
Defenders USA teaches self-defense in both unarmed combat and tactical firearms training, as offered by Adam Winch, whose experience includes a tenure as a Grand Junction police officer and military police in the US Army, Army Reserve and Colorado National Guard.
The courses available include an unarmed self-defense class Friday at Ringer Fitness, concealed carry weapons class Saturday morning, defensive handgun training Saturday afternoon at Bears Ears Sportsman Club, and a combat and defensive rifle applications course all day Sunday at Bears Ears.
When: Classes start at 6 p.m. Friday; 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday; 8:30 a.m. Sunday
