A fair amount of fun
The 98th annual Moffat County Fair is in full swing this week, with some of its biggest happenings this weekend.
In addition to animal shows and other features Friday, the second annual Ridin’ & Riggin’ Days Rodeo starts at 6 p.m., featuring arena action sanctioned by Colorado Pro Rodeo Association. In between rounds of the heavy duty stuff will be the yearly favorite, the Catch-a-Pig contest for ages 5 to 14, as kids dive in and get messy in the hopes of nabbing a greased-up pig.
Remember, that porker is yours to keep — if you can hold onto it.
Saturday starts bright and early with a 5K race hosted by Trapper Fitness Center, registration at 7 a.m. and runners and walkers heading out at 8 a.m.
A wide variety of activities follows throughout the day, such as the Cowboy Baby Contest, lawnmower races, tractor pull, livestock sales, evening dances and more.
