Wednesday is last day to sign Craig’s marijuana petition

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

The Committee to Grow Craig’s petition for an ordinance allowing the sale of recreational marijuana in Craig is due Thursday.

Wednesday is the final day to actually sign the petition.

Fifteen percent of registered voters in Craig have to sign in support of the initiative in order for it to be placed on November’s ballot. A majority vote in November would then be necessary for adoption of the ordinance.

The ordinance would allow three retail marijuana locations, four grow sites, one manufacturing facility and one testing site.

Those who plan to sign the petition must be registered voter and a resident of the city of Craig. The petition is available at several local businesses:

• Craig Apothecary, 611 Breeze St.

• Thunder Run Survival, 1594 W. Victory Way

• Health Works, 2035 W. Victory Way

• Smokes, 1111 W. Victory Way, Ste. 132

• Smoker Friendly, 40 E. Victory Way

• The Jungle Pet Shop, 29 W. Victory Way

• Bound by Ink Tattoo Shop, 406 Yampa Ave.
