Wedding singer arrested for harassment: On the record for Dec. 7

12:37 a.m. On the 600 block of Wickes Avenue, officers followed up on a complaint of harassment related to a wedding singer who was reportedly harassing a newlywed couple about payment earlier in the week. He reportedly caused a scene and had a verbal argument with a guest at the wedding with whom he had previously been in a relationship. She stated at the time that she no longer wanted contact with him. He started harassing her via phone and text message, and she advised him not to contact her, but he continued. Officers arrested the 56-year-old man for harassment and domestic violence.
11:23 p.m. At Walmart, officers responded to a report of fraud. A woman came in to buy $400 in iTunes gift cards, stating she was instructed by someone on Facebook to do so in order to win a prize. The employee helping her advised it was probably a scam and suggested she speak with an officer.
12:22 p.m. On the 400 block of Yampa Avenue, officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash. A small, silver Subaru with an older female driver was parallel parking when she backed into an unoccupied, red Volkswagon and left on Victory Way. She left minor damage to the vehicle she struck.
2:53 p.m. On the 400 block of Washington Street, officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked and cleared the vehicle.
2:53 p.m. On the 900 block of West First Street, officers responded to a report of a disturbance related to mental health issues.
3:46 p.m. Officers assisted the Department of Human Services in a child abuse investigation.
5:57 p.m. On the 300 block of Birch Street, officers responded to a report of fraud. A party received a voicemail stating he’d be charged with tax fraud if he didn’t call a certain number immediately. He wanted to pass the information on to officers.
10:02 p.m. At the Popular Bar, officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the snow in the parking lot and alley behind the bar. An ambulance was called, and the man was transported to the hospital after he fell on the ice.
11:22 p.m. At the Candlewood Inn & Suites, officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash. A vehicle was doing donuts in the parking lot and hit several other vehicles. Officers contacted the 31-year-old male driver, who was arrested for reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
