Wal-Mart bomb threat false alarm
April 21, 2008
A bomb threat at the Craig Wal-Mart Supercenter on Sunday night was a false alarm, officials said.
Local law enforcement agencies and Craig Fire/Rescue were called to the scene at 7:12 p.m. after a Wal-Mart employee made a 911 call, Craig Fire/Rescue Chief Bill Johnston said.
The employee told dispatch that someone had called the store using terms that led the employee to think a bomb was in the building, said Sgt. Brian Soper, of the Craig Police Department.
The store was cleared of employees and customers, and two searches were done in the store, with nothing found, Johnston said.
Employees were allowed back into the store at 7:53 p.m.
Soper said this is the first bomb threat Wal-Mart has received and the investigation is ongoing.
