VA: Craig telehealth clinic staying open

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Grand Junction reported Wednesday that rumors the Craig Veterans Telehealth Clinic is closing are untrue.

“Contrary to rumor, the Craig Veterans Affairs Telehealth Clinic is not closing,” wrote Paul Sweeney, VA customer relations chief, in a news release. “The clinic had to cancel onsite podiatry care due to staffing limitations and restrictions on what services can be provided at telehealth clinics.”

Veterans who were seen for foot care at the Craig telehealth clinic are now being seen at the Grand Junction VA Medical Center, according to the news release.

The ambulatory surgery clinic staff will schedule patients as needed.

Veterans who require assistance with transportation to the VA Medical Center can call Moffat County Veterans Service Officer Ed Wilkinson at 824-3246.

The Craig telehealth clinic is located at 785 Russell St., suite 400. For more information on the clinic, call 824-6721.
